Welcome, Applicant
The Houston Colony Scholarship — Texas Society of Mayflower Descendants has been established to assist deserving descendants of SOMD members in acquiring higher education, with a view to their becoming better prepared for life and citizenship.
In the spirit of the Mayflower settlers seeking to better themselves by moving to a new and uncharted world, special consideration will be given to applicants who have demonstrated commitment to bettering themselves and who will likely benefit from a scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
- Graduating high school senior in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027
- Planning to enter a US college, university, or community college for the first time in Fall 2027
- You, your parent, or your grandparent must be a current member of the Houston Colony of the Texas Society of Mayflower Descendants
- US citizen (birth certificate or US passport required)
- Texas resident (TX Driver's License, TX ID card, or high school student ID required)
